UFCW 864 hosts Steward Training Course in P.E.I.

Summerside, P.E.I. –  March 11, 2024 – UFCW Local 864 recently held a Stewards Training course on February 22nd and 23rd.

Held at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex, the stewards at the training were engaged and passionate about dealing with workplace issues and building the union in their workplaces. The training covered all the rights, roles, and responsibilities of shop stewards; how to investigate, file, and present grievances; and the basics of how to organize coworkers to build union participation through structured one-on-one organizing conversations.

Participants also made plans to set up a communication network across bargaining units so stewards can keep in touch with one another to share experiences and advice from their workplaces.
