UFCW activists Light the Night from coast to coast
October 27, 2014 – On the same evening in three different provinces, UFCW Canada activists, friends and family raised a combined total of more than $200,000 for blood cancer research and awareness. On October 18, members of UFCW Canada in Halifax, Montreal and Vancouver joined with thousands of walkers for annual Light the Night fundraising events.

Katelyn Gowlett wins 2014 UFCW International Scholarship
October 18, 2014 – Katelyn Gowlett from Bayswater, New Brunswick has won the UFCW’s esteemed international scholarship – totalling $8,000. Katelyn is the daughter of Randy Gowlett, a member of UFCW Canada Local 1288P at Pepsi in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Cambridge Estates Personal Care (Regal Lifestyle Communities Inc) – Local 1252
On October 9, 2014 the members of Local 1252 at the Cambridge Estates Personal Care, ratified their collective agreement. Term of Agreement, 3 years at 3%, 3% and 3%.
UFCW Eastern Provinces Council helps veterans’ bus service
September 15, 2014 – UFCW Canada’s Eastern Provinces Council has made a much-needed donation to the Walter Callow Wheelchair Bus service in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The service has existed since 1947. It provides veterans and persons with disabilities with recreational transportation and tours, using three specially equipped vehicles.
