February 25, 2016 – A new radio ad has hit the airwaves asking consumers not to buy Covered Bridge Potato Chips until a strike by UFCW Canada Local 1288P members ends with a fair first contract.
Woodstock, New Brunswick – February 3, 2016 –The choice of employees at Covered Bridge Potato Chips to be represented by UFCW Canada Local 1288P has been upheld and respected by the Court of Queen’s Bench. On February 1, 2016, the court confirmed the New Brunswick Labour and Employment Board’s May 15, 2015 rejection of an Application to terminate UFCW Canada Local 1288P’s bargaining rights.
February 4, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 1288P members on strike at Covered Bridge Potato Chips are continuing to hold strong on the picket line, as their campaign for fairness spreads out across the province to the storefronts of major retailers.
January 30, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 864 has successfully defeated a motion by Lawtons Drugs for an interim injunction to prevent the Nova Scotia Labour Board (NLSB) from issuing reasons for a decision it made in March 2015.
January 19, 2016 – Members on strike at Covered Bridge Potato Chips are holding strong, as two replacement workers walked out of the factory to join the picket line, and thousands of messages of support continue to pour in calling for a fair first contract.
