Scholarships

UFCW  is a firm believer in providing education opportunities and scholarship to our members and families.

Across Canada, UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 annual scholarship of $1,000 each to members and their family members for post-secondary study. As a UFCW Canada member, you, your spouse and children are eligible to apply to the UFCW Canada BDM Scholarships Program if you are attending full-time studies at a Canadian university, college, or other recognized post-secondary institution.

UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Scholarships

The UFCW Eastern Provinces Council offers a number of $1,000 scholarships for UFCW Canada Local 864, Local 1288P, and Local 1252 local members and the children of members pursuing post-secondary education. You can find out more and download an application here.

Nova Scotia Federation of Labour scholarships

The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour offers six bursaries for $1,000 each to full-time students who are going to attend university or trade school/community college for the first time or as a returning student. To apply, you must be a union member in Nova Scotia, or the son or daughter of a union member in Nova Scotia. You can find out more here.

New Brunswick Federation of Labour scholarships

The New Brunswick Federation of Labour offers a number of awards, bursaries and scholarships with a value of $500 to New Brunswick union members, or their children furthering their post-secondary education. You can find out more here.

Atlantic Canada Health Care Coalition Society Bursary

The Atlantic Canada Health Care Coalition Society offers five $1000 bursaries to eligible applicants attending an accredited post-secondary institution in 2023-2024. The bursary is available to dependents of union members in good standing with a local union affiliated to the Atlantic Canada Health Care Coalition society.
