UFCW Canada Eastern Provinces Council president Craig Walsh met with P.E.I. Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon today, Feb. 12, alongside many other labour delegates to discuss issues surrounding the labour movement.

The group, which also included MP Heather MacDonald, P.E.I. Federation of Labour president Carl Pursey, Mikayla Gallant of CUPE, Jason Rendell of UPSE and Jennifer Murray and Mike MacMullin of UNIFOR, spoke on the privatization of key public sector services, labour relations, and the recent U.S. President Donald Trump tariffs which threaten hundreds of thousands of workers.

Final discussions focused on the best ways to grow our Canadian economy, diversifying it from the United States, and building our own capacity to move products around.
