Members of UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 864 working at Amalgamated Dairies Limited in P.E.I. have spent a majority of the first week of March in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.
Bargaining committee members including Gord Mullins (far right), Gerald Richard, Dean Gallant and UFCW member representative Connor Kelly met for two productive meetings on Tuesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 6 to exchange first proposals with the company.
Initial conversations mostly surrounded non-monetary gains for the contract, with plans to meet on two days again the following week with the hope of having an offer to bring back for the membership to consider shortly.
