UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 1252 members working at Mount Peyton Resort and Conference Centre in Grand-Falls Windsor have come to terms on a new four-year agreement bringing in higher wages and more paid time off.
The negotiation team made up of Bev Burke, Joan Corbin and Sandra Corbett worked to bring in several gains, including a $1.10 per hour wage increase in year one in all job classifications retroactive to Dec. 2, 2024.
A one-time monetary bonus of up to $200 was also added for all active employees in 2025. Employees assigned to train new workers will receive a $0.20 per hour increase, and working supervisors are receiving a $0.50 per hour increase which will rise to $1.10 per hour worked. The night shift premium will also increase from $0.60 to $1.10 per hour.
Outside of monetary gains, Truth and Reconciliation Day was added to the list of paid holidays, and employees with at least 10 years of service were granted one additional floating holiday.
Other gains include improvements to contract language surrounding overtime and seniority.
