UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 1288P workers at Lineage Logistics in Moncton, N.B. have come to terms on a new 2-year agreement bringing increased wages, allowances and changes to several health and medical benefits.
Employees are receiving wage increases between 80-84 cents both years retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025, increases to evening and weekend premiums, as well as the ability to bank up to 80 hours of overtime.
Additional increases include a jump in overtime meal allowances from $15 to $25 and personal clothing allowance from $75 yearly to $200.
Entitlements to long term disability also jumped to $3,000 monthly and the ability to claim long and short-term disability has been increased to the age of 70.
Other changes include improvements to the bereavement leave and the language surrounding severance pay, additionally, in the event of mass reduction of 25% or more employees, the union will meet the employer to discuss severance pay, with a minimum of 2 weeks per year of service to a maximum of 52 weeks.
The group of 26 workers voted 84% in favour of the contract on April 17 following five months of bargaining dating back to November.
