UFCW Eastern Provinces Council members working at Compass in Shannex locations across New Brunswick have voted 80 per cent in favour of ratifying a new three-year collective agreement.

Wage increases based on the total number of hours employees have worked have led to workers with maximum hours seeing a bump of $1.00 in year one, retroactive to March 2025, with a $0.50 raise year-on-year following.
Uniform allowance has also jumped and will continue to grow throughout the length of the contract starting at $180 and ending at $220 yearly. Members also gained a new stat holiday with Victoria Day.
Any online courses required for work can now also be completed, paid, at the employee's home.
Other monetary gains include an 8 per cent vacation payout for casual employees, jumping to 10 per cent following 8 years worked, a $0.50 shift premium for employees training new hires, sick day payouts at years end and a $25 grocery gift card for all employees come December 1st each year.
Bereavement time also jumped to 5 days and now also includes stepfamily members.
Language surrounding vacation time and seniority also led to gains, with seniority for part time employees hired on the same day based on hours worked, and part timers switching to full time keeping their seniority.
Finally, vacation time has jumped to 4 weeks for workers with 10-15 years of service and 5 weeks for any workers with greater than 18 years.
