Members of UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 1252 working at Callingwood Downs Senior Complex in Clarkes Beach, N.L. have come to terms on a new agreement bringing in increased wages and time off.
The negotiating team of Corina Russell and Madonna Dixon brought the contract to their coworkers on October 9 where it was successfully ratified and brought into effect on Oct. 30.
The new contract has given members an 8 per cent wage increase over the course of the contract as well as an additional float holiday for full-time employees with 10 years or more service, bringing the total to 3.
Additional increases include a bump in uniform allowance, Christmas bonuses, and a signing bonus for all members.
