UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 1252 members working at the Clarenville Retirement Centre have unanimously ratified a new collective bargaining agreement just ahead of the New Year.
Bargaining committee members Bonita Taylor (left) UFCW member representative Sandra Corbett and Janice Holloway brought the deal to the membership on Dec. 17, 2025, and it will span until March 31, 2028.
The contract will bring members an 8 per cent wage increase over the course of the contract, as well as gains made in workers’ sick leave carryover, uniform allowance, and individual Christmas bonuses.
Shift premiums of an additional $1 per hour have also been brought in for anyone covering med room duties, as well as a contract signing bonuses for all workers.
