UFCW Eastern Provinces Council is proud to announce workers at Aramark in the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax have filed an official application for union certification with Local 864 at the Nova Scotia Labour Board as of this morning, April 1.
Staff covering concessions at the arena are fighting for increased wages, job security and improved quality of life changes such as vacation time, paid sick days and to be protected by the grievance procedure and representation from union staff.
We ask anyone attending any events at the Scotiabank Centre over the following weeks to show solidarity with these workers and remind them to stay strong ahead of their vote for certification.
