UFCW Eastern Provinces Council Local 864 workers at Freshmart in Ingonish, Cape Breton have come to terms on a one-year extension of their collective bargaining agreement with a substantial wage increase.
As a tight knit unit with a good relationship with their employer, workers at Freshmart have been self-sufficient in their bargaining year-by-year.
In their current extension, workers were able to negotiate a flat rate wage increase of an additional $3 per hour for all workers.
